Everything you need to know before exploring Bonaire’s caves.

  • The complete experience lasts approximately 2 hours. Around 1 hour and 30 minutes is spent exploring the wet cave, followed by 30 minutes in a dry cave.

  • The tour includes a guided walk to the cave, a wet cave exploration with snorkeling and a short freediving section, followed by a dry cave exploration. Your guide will also share information about Bonaire’s geology, cave formation and underground ecosystems.

  • You’ll enter the cave with the help of safety ropes and our guides, then explore the underground pools with a mask and professional underwater light. You’ll move through different chambers while learning about the cave’s geology and ecology.

  • After the wet cave, you’ll explore a dry cave where your guide will explain more about how Bonaire’s limestone caves were formed and the unique ecosystem found underground.

  • No. The freediving section is optional. It involves a short underwater passage of approximately 10–15 seconds, and our guides will explain and prepare you beforehand.

The Experience

  • Absolutely. No previous cave or freediving experience is required. Our guides will explain everything step by step and assist you throughout the experience.

  • Yes. Children from 8 years old can join the tour, provided they are comfortable in the water and able to follow the guide’s instructions.

  • Bring swimwear and a shirt or lycra that can get wet, sturdy shoes that can get dirty, a towel and a water bottle. You may also bring a waterproof camera or phone case. If you have your own snorkel, you are welcome to bring it.

  • Wear comfortable swimwear with a shirt or lycra on top. Sturdy shoes are required for the walk to and from the cave, although they will be removed during the water portion.

  • Jewelry, flip-flops or sandals, sunscreen and mosquito repellent are not allowed in the cave. These items can damage the cave environment or create safety and conservation concerns.

Before Your Adventure

  • Safety is our priority. Our experienced guides provide safety instructions, equipment and assistance throughout the experience, including the descent and movement through the cave.

  • Yes. A professional, certified guide accompanies you throughout the entire adventure, from the walk to the cave entrance to the wet and dry cave exploration.

  • Yes. Because part of the experience takes place in underground pools, participants should be comfortable swimming and being in the water.

  • That’s completely fine. The freediving section is optional. You can enjoy the rest of the wet cave experience without taking part in the underwater passage.

  • We provide snorkeling equipment, professional underwater lights, safety ropes and other essential equipment needed for the cave experience. Dry bags are also available for your personal belongings.

Booking & Private Tours

  • Our regular tours are shared experiences with a limited number of participants. For a more personal experience, we also offer private tours for groups of up to 7 people.

  • Yes. Our Private Cave Snorkel & Freedive Tour gives your group exclusive access to your own guide and allows you to experience the caves at a more personal pace.

  • Safety always comes first. If conditions make the tour unsafe, we may need to modify, reschedule or cancel the experience. We will communicate this with you as soon as possible.
